Billy Scott is the crew chief of the No. 45 Toyota Camry XSE team, which is driven by Tyler Reddick. Scott made his NASCAR debut in the Truck Series where he changed tires as a member of the pit crew in addition to serving as a mechanic. This year marks Scott’s tenth full-time season in the Cup Series and his third with 23XI. Through the 2023 season, Scott has four wins, nine poles, 29 top-five and 77 top-10 finishes in the Cup Series with twelve different drivers.

After completing two years of the University of South Florida’s mechanical engineering program, Scott moved to North Carolina to enroll in the Bobby Isaac Motorsports Technology Program at Catawba Valley Community College. In 2003, he changed tires as a pit crew member while also serving as a mechanic. Shortly after, Scott enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering.

After receiving his degree, Scott spent the 2005-2006 seasons with Howard-Boss Motorsports as an engineer and tire changer for the Grand-Am Daytona Prototype team. At the end of the 2006 season, Scott made his NASCAR Cup Series debut as an engineer for Robert Yates Racing. He later moved to Michael Waltrip Racing for the next six seasons, becoming a crew chief for five different drivers. Scott went on to serve as a crew chief for Danica Patrick, Kurt Busch and Daniel Suarez at Stewart-Haas Racing.

In 2022, Scott joined 23XI Racing to serve as the No. 45 team’s crew chief, working with Kurt Busch, Ty Gibbs and currently Tyler Reddick.

Scott and his wife Brandy reside in Statesville, North Carolina with their two children, Bailey and Braden.
